Some key information about Trinity Church Buxton...

Where & when does the church meet?

On Sundays we meet at 10.00am and 6.30pm. See 'What should I expect when I visit the church?' for more information.

Real Food: Once a month at 6.00pm we run an extra evening service called “Real Food” – a service which has a more informal feel. We start by eating together, then hear God’s word explained, with time for discussion at the end.

We use the door at the top of the drive on a Sunday morning. If you need assistance walking up the drive, please ask someone else who is also arriving, they would be delighted to help you.

There is limited parking available on the site but plenty of on street parking around us. Just remember to double check any parking restrictions. Click here to see a map of where you can park on a Sunday.

What should I expect when I visit the church?

You will be welcomed at the door and given a copy of the service sheet. This should tell you everything you need to know about what will be happening during our meeting. Please sit anywhere you like. You will find a Bible in the back of the chair in front of you.

In our meetings, we seek to:
– Read the Bible in our Scripture readings.
– Preach the Bible in our sermons.
– Pray to God in our corporate prayer.
– Build one another up by singing hymns and songs.
– Honour the Lord Jesus Christ in our actions and our worship.

At the end of our formal meeting time, please do stay around to join us for tea, coffee and biscuits. We’d love to be able to get to know you.

During our 10.00am morning service, we will sing a mixture of modern songs and older hymns (usually 5 songs/hymns in total, sometimes including a children's song). We usually say a set prayer of confession with other liturgy included during our communion services (usually the first Sunday of the month). We will hear the Bible read and someone will lead our prayers. We will also have a talk on the Bible passage for that week, usually lasting around 20 minutes. The whole service usually lasts around 75 minutes, and is followed by time to chat over tea, coffee and a biscuit. We suggest arriving 10 or so minutes before the service begins.

During our 6.30pm evening service, we will sing together (usually 4 songs/hymns). We usually say a set prayer of confession with other liturgy included during our communion services (usually the third Sunday of the month). We will hear the Bible read and then will have a talk on that Bible passage. We usually have open prayers during our evening service. The whole service usually lasts around 60 minutes. Prior to the service, refreshments are served from 6.00pm.

Once a month, we have our 'Real Food' service rather than our evening service. We meet in the downstairs hall and sit around tables. We have a meal together and then will sing together, hear the Bible read, have a talk on the Bible passage, pray together and discuss what we have learnt. This service starts at 6.00pm and ends at 7.45pm.

What happens to the kids at church?

During a ‘normal’ morning service, the children will stay in for approximately 20 minutes. After this, those aged 0-3 can go to the creche in the lounge off the side of our main meeting meeting room. Those ages 3-14 can go downstairs to join in with the group of children of their age for age-appropriate Bible teachings, games and craft. At the end of the service, the children will all come back upstairs.

For more information about what happens in the children's work please visit the relevant age groups for you under ‘Church Life’.

Is there a dress code?

No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all!
You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.
